Abstract

Faced with growing ethical pluralism, problems linked to the limits of private autonomy assume a certain dimension in the European context. The risk of different applications by Member States is obvious, in particular, in the field of bio-law, which opens one more time the eternal dilemma on the role of extra legal principles, always suspended between two opposing needs: the opening up to values on one hand, and the certainty of law on the other.
