In this essay I would like to examine the collection of poems Migrations. Migrazioni. An Afro-Italian night of the poets (66thand2nd 2016), in order to detect how the discourse on migration emerges in the words of poets, artists, and intellectuals who seem to privilege movement, trajectories, and the journey rather than a precise point of departure and of arrival; rather than a proper settling down of the migrant in an environment of hospitality, adaptation, and free choices. A linguistic analysis of verbs of movement and of non-finite vs finite verbal forms will be applied in order to support a hypothesis about the construction of migrant identities as itinerant, errant, always on the move, as ever migrants or migrating and never e-migrants or im-migrants. Finally, the bilingual edition of the volume will also grant critical considerations on translation practice.

Abstract
Finally, the bilingual edition of the volume will also grant critical considerations on translation practice.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
