“Being in the right place”: transnationality, emotional geographies and wellbeing among Senegalese migrants in Torino. – The article explores the relationship between migrations, transnational identity and the promotion of emotional wellbeing through traditional healing practices. The paper focuses on Senegalese migrants living in Turin and it explores the emotional geographies of some of the traditional (spiritual) healing practices they maintain in Italy. It explores whether these practices are able to promote the emotional wellbeing of migrants in the direction of facilitating, or not, their socio-cultural integration in Torino and in promoting their mutual belonging to different places (those “left” but never abandoned and those of “hospitality”) between emotions “of proximity” and emotions “at a distance”.
