Political power has a deep discursive impact. Being first of all an event, its utterances are real social and cultural actions. Language and discourse in this case are concepts close to each other. Political discourse has a pragmatic dimension, political language a linguistic one. In political TV adverts the two dimensions are overlapping: diamesic features are in this case emerging and gaining new meanings. Political TV adverts focus especially on multimedia-elements and are therefore a rich source for the multimodal communication.
