Guido Calogero was an important philosopher, a penetrating essayist and a politically committed intellectual. This paper analyses his intense civil activity, political and theoretical, which runs through fascism and and characterizes his thinking as explicitly anti-fascist. His anti-fascism, and the Liberal-Socialist proposal, can be interpreted as a consequence of his ideas: democracy as an educational task; the theory of dialogue; the concept of limit, declined both in political and educational terms. In this framework, The school of man is the fulcrum around which revolve his intellectual path, from ancient philosophy to critic of epistemology, from the primacy of ethics to the centrality of education, up to the philosophy of dialogue and the debate on school issues.

Abstract
Guido Calogero was an important philosopher, a penetrating essayist and a politically committed intellectual. This paper analyses his intense civil activity, political and theoretical, which runs through fascism and and characterizes his thinking as explicitly anti-fascist. His anti-fascism, and the Liberal-Socialist proposal, can be interpreted as a consequence of his ideas: democracy as an educational task; the theory of dialogue; the concept of limit, declined both in political and educational terms. In this framework, The school of man is the fulcrum around which revolve his intellectual path, from ancient philosophy to critic of epistemology, from the primacy of ethics to the centrality of education, up to the philosophy of dialogue and the debate on school issues.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
