The tenth-century “Vision of Anastasia the nun” is one of the most known Byzantine examples of otherworld journey narrative. As demonstrated by recent scholarship, it is a source of great importance for the study of contemporary society, and provides insights into the mentality of the Greek medieval man. An annotated Italian translation – the first ever – of redaction “P” (BGH 1868), is offered here.
