Percezione dei servizi ecosistemici dell’allevamento di montagna: un’indagine in Val di Susa (Torino)

The perception of ecosystem service provided by mountain livestock: a research in Susa Valley (Turin) – The relationship between the farm and the territory provides a series of positive externalities that can be framed in the term of "ecosystem services", that is all the benefits provided by an ecosystem to man. This work examines ecosystem services perception provide by mountain farming to a local community with particular attention to the prospects of sustainable management of the territory. The results show a relatively limited perception of these services but a positive global vision of mountain farming. This socio-cultural attitude constitutes the base for some management and promotion proposals in the livestock sector, with the aim of enhancing the services deemed most important for the local community, introducing them into polices and territorial plans.
