The notion of identity is common in everyday speech and plays an important role many disciplines. Many support its apparent simplicity. David Lewis, for instance, remarks that “identity is utterly simple and aproblematic” (Lewis 1986: 192–193). However, when we discuss what it means in the frame of different disciplinary or sub-disciplinary fields, it reveals its great complexity and its discipline-specific meanings.

Abstract
The notion of identity is common in everyday speech and plays an important role many disciplines. Many support its apparent simplicity. David Lewis, for instance, remarks that “identity is utterly simple and aproblematic” (Lewis 1986: 192–193). However, when we discuss what it means in the frame of different disciplinary or sub-disciplinary fields, it reveals its great complexity and its discipline-specific meanings.File in questo prodotto:
