Die Latinisierung der ossetischen Schrift. Sprachliche und kulturelle Implikationen im sowjetischen Diskurs (Gedanken zu einem Forschungsprojekt)

The Latinisation of Ossetic. Linguistic and cultural implications in the Soviet discourse (Some thoughts on a research project) The creation of a Roman-based alphabet for Ossetic was carried on within the Soviet language policy known as “jazykovoe stroitel’stvo” in the twenties of the 20th century. It shows, however, some important differences from the main aims of this script reform, conducted in such a large scale for ideological and political reasons. The paper presents shortly a future research project, in which particular attention is paid to the principal aspects that involved and accompanied this dramatic but short-lived change .
