Fronteras de la crisis. Naufragios y ciudadanía en la Europa contemporánea

The paper will address in a historical and anthropological perspective some of the dynamics that since the late nineties of the last century with the Albanian migration to Italy, characterized the shipwrecks in the Mediterranean as dynamic regulatory processes of migration up to turn them into constituent events in production of European borders and their permanent crisis. In a related, intertwining the analysis of specific memory practices on shipwrecks died with the fragments of a survival story and landing on European shores, it will try to show how the crossing of Mediterranean borders put a strain on classification categories for the different mobility experiences raising the question of citizenship as a conflictual space.
