The essay aims to research the events through which Turin university acquired private libraries formerly owned by professors who refused the fascist oath of 1931: expecially, the collections of Francesco and Edoardo Ruffini, of Piero Martinetti and of Lionello Venturi (respectively stored in Norberto Bobbio Library, Art, Music and Entertainment Library of the Department of Humanities and Arturo Graf University Historical Library). The different histories of these formerly private collections also show significant relationships with other personal collections now kept by the same university.
