The two classic terms hypocrisy and cynicism allows us to build up coordinates to orient ourselves in the contemporary political landscape, increasingly polarized between movements and leaders accusing each other of incompatibility with democracy. The so-called populists accuse traditional politics of hypocritically presenting itself as a cure for the very ills it created; the populists, in turn, are accused of cynically fomenting a dramatic spiral of social violence. Apparently very distant, however, these political “styles” seem to have a very similar post-ideological view of politics.

Abstract
The two classic terms hypocrisy and cynicism allows us to build up coordinates to orient ourselves in the contemporary political landscape, increasingly polarized between movements and leaders accusing each other of incompatibility with democracy. The so-called populists accuse traditional politics of hypocritically presenting itself as a cure for the very ills it created; the populists, in turn, are accused of cynically fomenting a dramatic spiral of social violence. Apparently very distant, however, these political “styles” seem to have a very similar post-ideological view of politics.File in questo prodotto:
