Abstract
Through a thorough inquiry into the sources, the monography seeks to clarify which use late Roman law textes as well as late Latin literature (both historical and ecclesiastical) made of the word 'iudex'. Provided that a wide range of courts were settled in the late Roman Empire, it is pretty complicated to understand which was the court meant by the source. Moreover, judicial power was held by the owners of public powers, which puts another burden to our skill to understand the late Roman perspective. Furthermore, the study aims to give a new insight into the late Roman concept of 'jurisdiction'File in questo prodotto:
