The essays collected together in this issue of CompLit provide new critical perspectives into “beginnings”, focusing on the theories, the languages and the imagery of origins, and especially on their potentiality of significance as applied to texts and contexts that spread from Antiquity to the present. By adopting an interdisciplinary approach, the selected articles range from linguistics, and the intersections between linguistics and mythology, to architecture and the arts, and from world literature to cinema.

Abstract

The essays collected together in this issue of CompLit provide new critical perspectives into “beginnings”, focusing on the theories, the languages and the imagery of origins, and especially on their potentiality of significance as applied to texts and contexts that spread from Antiquity to the present. By adopting an interdisciplinary approach, the selected articles range from linguistics, and the intersections between linguistics and mythology, to architecture and the arts, and from world literature to cinema.
