The paper aims to discuss two points from Donatelli’s book La filosofia e la vita etica. First, why should a genealogical investigation of morality be useful: which advantages does it offer to know where it stems? Secondly, the author does not answer the question of why to be moral. If ethics is an overcoming of customary morality or evolutionary instincts, why should we expand the circle of those who have moral consideration?
