Abstract

This article proposes a joint reflection on the climate and the pandemic crisis. Suppose the climate crisis is a direct consequence of an economic model based on the exploitation of people and natural resources. In that case, the pandemic is the clearest consequence of the global dimension of the results of this crisis. In the paper, the links between climate crisis and pandemic are shown, also providing a criminological reading of the links and causes inherent in the uncontrolled exploitation of resources and in the violent nature of the relations of power, extraction and subordination of extractivist capitalism. The conclusion advocates for a paradigm shift that empowers the political value of the resistance practices from below at a global level and of the public critical criminology
