The first draft genome of Anemone coronaria L. (2n = 2x = 16) was obtained by Illumina sequencing of an androgenetic haploid plant of a commercial variety. Following, a user-friendly "Anemone coronaria Microsatellite DataBase" (AnCorDB), which incorporates the Primer3 script, making it possible to design couples of primers for downstream application of the identified SSR markers. SSR markers were validate by fingerprinting eight cultivated varieties as well as for assessing their intra-cultivar variability.

Abstract

The first draft genome of Anemone coronaria L. (2n = 2x = 16) was obtained by Illumina sequencing of an androgenetic haploid plant of a commercial variety. Following, a user-friendly "Anemone coronaria Microsatellite DataBase" (AnCorDB), which incorporates the Primer3 script, making it possible to design couples of primers for downstream application of the identified SSR markers. SSR markers were validate by fingerprinting eight cultivated varieties as well as for assessing their intra-cultivar variability.
