The paper analyses from a phono-morphological point of view the text of the letters by Caterina da Siena handed down in the manuscript Milano, Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense, AD.XIII.34, and in particular in the sections of the manuscript transcribed by Mariano Vitali: the Sienese linguistic component, largely dominant, is flanked by some rare Florentine and perhaps Pisan traits and some very rare northern Italian traits.
