Le avventure della speranza. Un percorso nella filosofia di Giuseppe Riconda

Riconda’s theoretical itinerary, however articulated and varied, remains from its onset an end of a metaphysical order. Metaphysics becomes an adventurous experience, connected to the classical themes of philosophia perennis and yet always attentive to the concrete situation, to the urgencies of the present in which the human being finds himself, between uncertainty and sense of responsibility for the common destiny. Instead of proceeding to a historiographical reconnaissance, in this essay, we preferred to essentialize the thought of the philosopher Riconda through the typification of some ideal moments, which are a constant of his way of thinking about reality as a whole: hope, mystery, wager, and faith. These notions must then be added to the adventure, which is the general framework that gives a peculiar tone, extraordinarily dynamic and alive, to his entire arc of thought. Moreover, the dialogue between philosophy as metaphysics (of which personalism and hermeneutics are constitutive moments) and religion (to which Pascal’s motif of the wager gives access in recognition of the mystery of life and the tragic cogency of original sin) remains constant.
