This research examines the relationship between anarchist culture and Gothic literature, focusing on the study of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. The aim of this paper is to show the political, conflicting, and revolutionary scope of the Gothic genre, for a study of literary genres that also focuses on their transcultural and transnational scope. At first, it will be evaluated the weight that the thought of Mary Shelley’s father, William Godwin, had on her artistic production. And, secondly, an eminently political analysis of Frankenstein will be assessed.
