The aim of this paper is to propose the analysis of archival documents (treatments, scripts, notes, preparatory materials and unrealized projects) reinterpreted through the lens of the actor’s issue. We would like to deepen the work of Pasquale Festa Campanile through the materials contained in the personal fund kept in the Archives of National Museum of Cinema located in Turin. Specifically, we propose to investigate part of his production from the Seventies to the Eighties, a decisive period that sees the director confronting the late comedy Italian-style, the erotic comedy, the popular cinema of the 1980s. Through the documents and scripts of emblematic movies and unrealized projects, this paper intends to identify references to the actor’s imagery and to the “acting catalog” built by Festa Campanile and his collaborators. Moreover, this paper proposes to deepen the references to the Italian cultural context in the Seventies and Eighties in relation to the exploitation of an ever-changing actor system.
