The purpose of the following pages is to establish a connection between projectuality and the logical form of abduction in the field of audiovisual production in digital format. In this sense, based on a review of the epistemic and cognitive theory of Charles Sanders Peirce, video editing is defined as an assembly’s project of a digital audiovisual object. According to a proposal that we could define as iconic projectuality, the kinetic and active nature of the logical form of abduction is rescued. By its ability to connect previously unrelated aspects, abduction can enable the construction of effective reasoning as well as innovative design strategies.
