Slovenia joined the European Union (EU) in 2004 following a really widespread Euroenthusiasm. Long before the independence, most people, even though in very different ways and – exactly – in the peculiar conditions within Yugoslavia, showed a general “pro-European” position. This stance increased after 1991, when inside the new independent Republic that bent for the European Communities and then towards the European Union had become a general common feeling. At least so it seemed. In the last decade this “successful story” has come to a rest, particularly in 2008 and 2013. The whole situation has influenced the public opinion, both in general and with specific reference to the position, more or less in favour of being a member of the EU and developing the process of continental integration. There is no longer the past Euroenthusiasm – provided it was real and not only presumed – but there is not even that Euroscepticism, full of “sovereign” nationalism traceable in other member states of the European Union.

Abstract
There is no longer the past Euroenthusiasm – provided it was real and not only presumed – but there is not even that Euroscepticism, full of “sovereign” nationalism traceable in other member states of the European Union.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
