Analisi e criticità di recupero: il caso della Ceramica Ligure Vaccari

The present paper brings the attention to the case of the factory of Ponzano Magra (La Spezia), the Ceramica Ligure Vaccari, one of the most important ceramic factory in Italy from the XIX century. The main topic is to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the choices made by the municipality’s administration for the conversion of the site in a cultural key, after the closure in 2006, and moreover illustrate how this transformation of the factory has more or less changed the local context. The intent is to explore this problem, starting from the history of the factory and its production, and then studying the various phases of the transition from a disused factory to a multifunctional space. The goal is to open a debate on the analysis of the conversion in a cultural hub of the Vaccari factory, trying to find new ideas and proposals to be submitted to the municipality.
