In the southwest corner of the recently excavated building at Old Nisa, a series of underground structures emerged; they were part of a rather complex underground water supply system. The water system located at the southwestern corner of the central courtyard of the building occupies an area approximately 30 m long (north-south) and 4 m wide, with a depth of at least 10 m . Although much remains to be discovered about its functioning, the Old Nisa water system represents unique and important evidence for the study of water resources during the Parthian era.
