Currently, several countries around the world recognise the ‘rights of nature’ in formal legal documents, ranging from constitutions to city ordinances, and in legal judgments. A similar tendency is gaining traction at the international level as well, through the activity of international organizations, the initiatives of NGOs and community leaders. This contribution investigates whether and to what extent Italian law participates in this movement and shares a similar approach.
