The chapter provides an overview of the main approaches to the enforcement of EU law in the area of freedom ,security and justice, with a focus on judicial cooperation in criminal matters, operational police cooperation, border management and migration law. It addresses the institutional actors, the relationship with domestic law and the procedures established to secure the fully fledged application of EU law (EAW, reintroduction of internal border controls, police cooperation tools, etc.).
