This paper will focus on the relationship between the acquisition of spoken French and Dialogue Interpreting (DI). The core question of this paper is whether DI can be considered not only as an end in itself but also as a pedagogical tool. After a theoretical and methodological introduction on DI and an overview on learning French as a Foreign Language in Italy, the main teaching methods used in DI will be explored. The analysis of data from two face-to-face DI courses between French and Italian provided in 2019 and in 2022 will thus shed light on the impact of DI on spoken French acquisition.
