European late medieval political society was interwoven by many ties: one of the strongest and most flexible was represented by friendship. By applying to the Italian context the most recent methods of the network analysis, this volume aims at presenting the many layers and interactions enacted by men and women in Renaissance Italy, as well as offering to scholars and students alike some selected and commented sources, chosen either among the most celebrated texts of the Renaissance and the richness of the surviving archival evidence.

Abstract

European late medieval political society was interwoven by many ties: one of the strongest and most flexible was represented by friendship. By applying to the Italian context the most recent methods of the network analysis, this volume aims at presenting the many layers and interactions enacted by men and women in Renaissance Italy, as well as offering to scholars and students alike some selected and commented sources, chosen either among the most celebrated texts of the Renaissance and the richness of the surviving archival evidence.
