Old Nisa is currently recognised as one of the best-known Arsacid sites for the Parthian period, despite uncertainties remain concerning the specific function of individual buildings in different construction phases, the nature of its layout through the various stages of its history and its identification with known ancient toponyms. The purpose of this paper is to summarise data from recent archaeological investigations conducted in still little-known and “marginal” areas of Old Nisa.
