Most of the histories of Italian cinema quote the famous fragment from La Neuropatologia (Negro and Omegna, 1906-1908) in which professor Negro stimulates an hysteric attack on a masked patient (and then puts it to an end). However, something seems not to work while viewing such episode, since the spectator feels the presence of a manipulating direction, which should not be there considering the documentaristic nature of the work. These doubts on Negro’s documentaristic claims are there to remain in the viewing of other fragments.

Abstract
Most of the histories of Italian cinema quote the famous fragment from La Neuropatologia (Negro and Omegna, 1906-1908) in which professor Negro stimulates an hysteric attack on a masked patient (and then puts it to an end). However, something seems not to work while viewing such episode, since the spectator feels the presence of a manipulating direction, which should not be there considering the documentaristic nature of the work. These doubts on Negro’s documentaristic claims are there to remain in the viewing of other fragments.File in questo prodotto:
