This article provides a translation into Italian and a commentary of the Latin epigram written by Angelo Poliziano to celebrate his own translation into Latin of Herodian's «Roman history» and of the two epistles (to the book’s editor, Andrea Magnani; and to the dedicatee, Pope Innocent VIII respectively) accompanying the translation in the edition authorized by the author (Bologna 1493).

Abstract
