The chapter presents an overview on the EU governance of AI; since a decade, the EU has considered AI a tenet for social and economic development of the Union but also understood the risks of it. Several pieces of soft law and even hard law were passed to make sure that AI will be an opportunity for all EU citizens and not a cause of inequalities.
