L’etnomusicologia nel web semantico

Ethnomusicology in the semantic web. LOD technologies are used in a variety of projects in the cultural sphere at the international level. An initial experimentation of these technologies in the field of ethnomusicology was carried out with the SAMIC project, which provided the theoretical and technological basis for the current unito projects in digital humanities. As part of the PRIN 2017, directed by Giovanni Giuriati, the Turin Unit’s objectives are: 1) the creation of a catalographic system for ethnomusicological resources; 2) the ontological representation of the domain; and 3) the exposure of catalographic data in the form of Linked Open Data. The purpose of this article is to provide a general overview of the topic of LODs and their use in ethnomusicology and to show the state of the art of the project and the activities of the Turin Unit.
