A critical edition enriched with detailed textual notes and biographical insights of one of the most important works in classical Japanese literature. The text, written in both prose and verse, chronicles the epic journey undertaken by Bashō on foot from Edo to the northern provinces in the late 17th century. This collaborative translation is the result of the work of Asuka Ozumi and Chandra Candiani, one of Italy's foremost contemporary poets.
