In my work, I intend to examine every relevant element in terms of constitutional rules, although placed in a very turbulent period, to affirm the historicity of the first ever plebeian dictatorship, in accordance with tradition covered by Gaius Marcius Rutilus in 356 B.C., after having carried out its historical contextualization. Future research should focus on verifying a credible compliance with what was thought to be ‘public law’ in the middle of the fourth century B.C.

Abstract

In my work, I intend to examine every relevant element in terms of constitutional rules, although placed in a very turbulent period, to affirm the historicity of the first ever plebeian dictatorship, in accordance with tradition covered by Gaius Marcius Rutilus in 356 B.C., after having carried out its historical contextualization. Future research should focus on verifying a credible compliance with what was thought to be ‘public law’ in the middle of the fourth century B.C.
