Geography and contemporary art. A route into the Venice Art Biennial 2024. The relationship between geography and contemporary art is full of interesting connections. Taking inspiration from the 60th Venice International Art Exhibition, the paper reflects on how artists and movements are defined through the use of geographical categories, and on how works express links with regions and territories. More generally, it is possible to recognize in contemporary art a human and cultural geography that represents the complex relationships between communities, places, ideas, territories and social, environmental and political issues from the local to the global scale.
