Soviet and post-Soviet satirical literature is characterised by extra-textual themes relating to politics, social customs and cultural institutions. Soviet satire aims to explicitly or implicitly denounce a status quo or a condition or situation in need of improvement or resolution. It works by being both subversive and affirmative, without violating the moral and ethical norms observed by the target audience. This paper proposes a brief discussion of the satirical narrative strategies that characterise Vyacheslav P’ecuch’s (1946-2019) prose, particularly his novel The New Moscow Philosophy.

Abstract
Soviet and post-Soviet satirical literature is characterised by extra-textual themes relating to politics, social customs and cultural institutions. Soviet satire aims to explicitly or implicitly denounce a status quo or a condition or situation in need of improvement or resolution. It works by being both subversive and affirmative, without violating the moral and ethical norms observed by the target audience. This paper proposes a brief discussion of the satirical narrative strategies that characterise Vyacheslav P’ecuch’s (1946-2019) prose, particularly his novel The New Moscow Philosophy.File in questo prodotto:
