Towards a recovery of the unidentified fragments of the Greek manuscripts of Turin · The fire which struck the National University Library of Turin in 1904, destroying over a hundred Greek manuscripts and damaging the surviving ones, left back also a lot of parchment and paper fragments; despite various restoration campaigns, the library still holds a significant number of unidentified fragments. The article illustrates the first steps of the identification process and discusses two examples: in the first case paper fragments are assigned to an already restored codex, Taur. C.VI.10; in the second, 39 fragments are identified as coming from a manuscript, which was believed to be completely lost, Taur. C.VI.20.
