The effectiveness of the Triple Nexus (TN) approach, which integrates humanitarian, development, and peace efforts to address crises, is a central inquiry in current United Nations literature. Hindered by a lack of practical clarity, TN implementation progress remains a challenge. This study assesses TN performance in three scenarios: (S1) mass influx of refugees, (S2) post-armed conflict, and (S3) infectious disease outbreak, using trade-off analysis and a pairwise comparison method. Quantifiable factors, termed "Figures of Merits," were defined for each scenario through expert interviews. A scoring scale evaluated TN and that individual Nexus-Sensitive framework. Results indicate the TN performs better only in post-armed conflicts with focused implementation. Experts view TN as an opportunity to improve organizational efficiency and enhance the overall impact by merging separate units and reducing overlapping tasks. Rather than altering response plans, TN shifts the perspective on crisis management, highlighting its potential for improving overall effectiveness.

Abstract
Rather than altering response plans, TN shifts the perspective on crisis management, highlighting its potential for improving overall effectiveness.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
