Prendre position face à des auditoires hétérogènes : le cas du stand-up

EN: Stand-up, a very popular form of comic performance today, is characterized by a combination of the pragmatic aim of amusing the audience and the overt desire to present the humorous speaker’s standpoint on current affairs, which corresponds to an explicit argumentative aim. However, this is a challenging exercise, both because of the fictional (non-serious) aspect of the comedy show and because of the divisions that the current affairs, whose axiological evaluation is not yet stabilized, could introduce at the thematic and argumentative level within a heterogeneous audience, thereby canceling out the expected euphoric effect. An analysis of some of the argumentative strategies used in the analyzed sketches highlights the importance of the “shown” and “said” ethos and of the interactive dimension of stand-up. It also highlights the crucial role of the enunciative pact that governs this form of performance, granting the stand-up comedian, among other things, the systematic posture of “over-enunciation” (i.e. high-up perspective) in relation to other points of view represented in his discourse. FR: Le stand up, forme de spectacle particulièrement en vogue à l’heure actuelle, se caractérise par la conjugaison entre finalité pragmatique d’amusement du public et volonté affichée de présenter le point de vue de l’énonciateur-locuteur humoristique sur l’actualité, ce qui correspond à une visée argumentative explicite. Cet exercice s’avère cependant périlleux, à la fois par l’aspect fictionnel (non-sérieux) du spectacle humoristique et par les clivages que les sujets d’actualité, dont l’évaluation axiologique n’est pas encore stabilisée, pourraient déterminer au niveau thématique et argumentatif au sein d’un auditoire hétérogène, ce qui pourrait annuler l’effet euphorisant visé. L’analyse de quelques stratégies argumentatives mobilisées dans les séquences de sketches analysées met au jour l’importance du travail sur l’ethos montré et dit et de la dimension interactive du stand up, ainsi que le rôle crucial du pacte énonciatif qui régit cette forme de spectacle, octroyant à l’humoriste, entre autres choses, la posture systématique de sur-énonciation par rapport aux points de vue autres.
