This essay is the outcome of the multidisciplinary EU proof of concept research project “EU Face Advanced Communication for Elders Treasuring in Society” (EUFACETS), which delved into the multifaceted phenomenon of aging, generally referred to as the “Silver Age”, and how this phase of life relates to contemporary technology and the digital culture. The EUFACETS project analysed how Silver Agers use and interact through contemporary technologies, in the aim to design a dedicated digital application enabling seniors to connect with their family and community, and to share life stories and memories.
