I commenti latini al "De sensu et sensato" di Aristotele (XIII-XV sec.): "status quaestionis" e prospettive per un inventario

The article proposes to analyse the available inventories and catalogues of textual witnesses of medieval Latin commentaries (13th-15th century) on Aristotle’s "De sensu et sensato", considering both inventories and catalogues specifically focused on textual witnesses of "De sensu" commentaries, and inventories and catalogues of textual witnesses of Aristotelian commentaries by geographical area. Through the analysis of these works, the article shows the need for a new, truly comprehensive inventory, also in light of the possibility of mistakes and omissions in these inventories and catalogues. In this respect, a case study is conducted in the Appendix about the textual witness of a "De sensu" question-commentary (ms. Roma, Biblioteca dell’Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei e Corsiniana, Fondo Rossi 415 (36.F.6), ff. 103r-132v) which has been either overlooked by inventories and catalogues, or wrongly considered a textual witness either of John Buridan’s "Quaestiones" on the "De sensu", or, even worse, of Buridan’s "Expositio" of the "De sensu". Thanks to a close study of some representative "quaestiones" of the commentary, the article shows both the similarities and the differences with Buridan’s "Quaestiones" on the "De sensu", together with the close connection between the commentary and the “Buridanian” intellectual milieu.
