This study explores the relationship between the figure of the Teacher of Righteousness, central to the Qumran community, and the “scribe of righteousness” found in Enochic literature, with particular focus on the Ethiopic Book of Enoch. Through a comparative analysis of the relevant texts, the author investigates the role of the scribe as a mediator of apocalyptic revelations and interpreter of the Law, highlighting both affinities and differences between the priestly Enochic model and the more normative, communal model reflected in the Qumran writings. The article contributes to a deeper understanding of authority, knowledge transmission, and identity formation within Second Temple Judaism.

Abstract
This study explores the relationship between the figure of the Teacher of Righteousness, central to the Qumran community, and the “scribe of righteousness” found in Enochic literature, with particular focus on the Ethiopic Book of Enoch. Through a comparative analysis of the relevant texts, the author investigates the role of the scribe as a mediator of apocalyptic revelations and interpreter of the Law, highlighting both affinities and differences between the priestly Enochic model and the more normative, communal model reflected in the Qumran writings. The article contributes to a deeper understanding of authority, knowledge transmission, and identity formation within Second Temple Judaism.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
