This essay presents the findings of the project CLiMAlp (Corpus Linguistics meets Alpine Space) concerning Töitschu, the Walser variety spoken in the Aosta Valley municipality of Issime. A total of 573 texts in this language were first collected, uploaded to the project platform, and subsequently underwent POS-tagging. This study specifically explores the lexical and grammatical insights that emerged from the analysis of platform data, together with several manifestations of the local contact between Töitschu and Romance languages. These findings provide some foundations for planning a new version of the Töitschu dictionary, as well as for drafting its first grammar.
