A left ventricular aneurysm complicates an acute myocardial infarction in 4-20% of patients. The loss of the physiological geometry of the ventricle can lead to a dislocation of the papillary muscles with subsequential mitral valve regurgitation. The goal of this case report is to demonstrate that a proper operation to restore the left ventricular anatomy can be a feasible procedure to correct functional mitral regurgitation.

Abstract
A left ventricular aneurysm complicates an acute myocardial infarction in 4-20% of patients. The loss of the physiological geometry of the ventricle can lead to a dislocation of the papillary muscles with subsequential mitral valve regurgitation. The goal of this case report is to demonstrate that a proper operation to restore the left ventricular anatomy can be a feasible procedure to correct functional mitral regurgitation.File in questo prodotto:
