The essay describes the project’s pedagogical activities related to listening (musical and intersubjective) and the production of the collective lyrics of a song. Music was considered a fruitful vector of inner reflection and public sharing: two conditions that rarely converge in a single experience. Here, however, through the work carried out, the pedagogical practices of questioning, reflection and the emerging of meanings, qualified in depth the choice of words adopted by the adolescents in order to offer the world (of adults?) a representation of themselves very far from that of common sense, often oriented towards superficiality and/or adolescent insecurity/fragility, and very much related, on the contrary, to the importance of ethicality in meaningful relationships. In the second part, the work with teachers is outlined. Starting from their need to improve and/or supervise the educational relationship in the curricular activities, the pedagogical work was structured on the assumption of intergenerationality. A specific feature of musical listening in our days, the willingness to “sensitive listening” makes it possible to probe and explore reflective spaces aimed at self-knowledge and the formation of the youthful personality that can foster profound and fruitful dynamics among peers. And consequently also make interactions with cultural contents and teachers more participative and interesting.
