The note aims to provide a critical reading of the volume ‘Laws of transgression: the return of Judge Schreber’. After a brief introduction, aimed at placing the object of the analysis, a subdivision by subject line of the authors’ contributions is offered, which proposes different reinterpretations of Judge Schreber’s case. Subsequently, we proceed with a comparison between these positions and that of Professor Peter Goodrich in order to identify interesting connections between the dimensions of the body, law and literature. Finally, some personal considerations are reported, with particular attention to the psychoanalytic slant, through Freudian and Lacanian interpretation.
