This article explores the role of aesthetic education as a practice aimed at developing individuals’ appreciative and creative capacities. It argues that taste represents a fundamental aesthetic habit, understood as a dynamic sensitivity refined through interactions with aesthetic affordances and situational contingencies. Far from being the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and technical expertise, this habit requires continuous cultivation through diverse and meaningful aesthetic experiences. The article posits that taste, as an appreciative practice, not only organizes aesthetic preferences but also contributes to shaping the aesthetic self by fostering the attuning between the individual and the aesthetic phenomenon. This perspective enriches the debate on aesthetic education, presenting it as a journey of taste transformation through attentive, improvisational, and pleasure-driven engagement.
