This article aims to contribute to the study of Alexander Langer, a nonviolent ecologist and European deputy. In recent times, his figure has been attracting significant interest due to his conception of politics as «art of togetherness» among human beings and with nature, and his idea of ecological conversion understood first and foremost as a cultural fact and then in its economic and productive implications. Using sources from its archive, the political action within European institutions will be investigated. Through his original political path, the study allows to explore the contributions and limitations of the action of European deputies at the historical moment of 1989.
